The DGHNO-KHC poster prize (Fahl Medizintechnik-Förderpreis) is awarded annually at the annual meeting for the best scientific poster presentations and is donated by the company Andreas Fahl Medizintechnik Vertrieb GmbH Cologne. As a rule, a first, second and third prize is awarded; the Executive Committee decides on the number of prizes and the amount of the endowment, taking into account the available financial resources.

Not only the scientific but also the didactic quality of the posters is assessed, i.e. how skilfully graphic means have been used to convey the scientific content in an understandable and impressive way.

The panel of judges is made up of a chairperson appointed by the Presidium, as well as other members of the society who belong to a medical faculty and who are to be proposed by the chairperson and appointed by the Presidium. The number of jury members is based on the number of posters to be assessed.

To participate in the poster award competition, the first author applies by submitting their poster presentation online by a deadline set by the Executive Committee before the annual meeting. More detailed information on the submission procedure and technical requirements will be communicated to the poster authors in writing in good time. The poster contribution must be original and must not yet have been published.

The poster prizes are awarded by the congress president during the annual meeting.

There is no legal recourse against the decision of the panel of judges.
